Sign Up & Create Your Account
Download the CheckMate app and create your account with your phone number or email. You'll receive a provisional CheckMate ID immediately — ready to be upgraded once verified.
Complete Identity Verification
To unlock your verified status, upload a clear photo of your government-issued ID (National ID, Passport, or Driver's License) and take a live selfie. Our team reviews your submission — usually within 24 hours.
Get Your Verified CheckMate ID
Once approved, your profile gets a ✓ Verified badge and your status is set to "NOT LINKED" — confirmed single. You can now share your QR code or 12-character ID with others to prove your status.
Link with Your Partner (Optional)
If you're in a relationship, enter your partner's CheckMate ID and send a Link Request. When they accept, both your statuses update to "LINKED" simultaneously — with a timestamp of when the relationship was confirmed.
Check Anyone's Status
Curious about someone? Enter their CheckMate ID in the Status Check screen. You'll instantly see if they're verified, single, or linked — along with how long they've held that status. All checks are logged.
Manage Your Profile & Activity
View your full activity log at any time — who checked your status, when you sent or received link requests, and your full status history. Control your notification settings and privacy options from your profile.
Common Questions
Can I use CheckMate without verifying my identity?
You can sign up and get a provisional ID, but your status will show as "Unverified". To have a trusted badge and be taken seriously by others, you need to complete identity verification.
What happens if my partner refuses to link?
Linking is entirely mutual. You can send a request, but the other person must accept it. If declined, your status remains "NOT LINKED" and no record is created on their end.
Can someone fake their CheckMate ID?
No. CheckMate IDs are tied to verified government documents reviewed by our admin team. Each ID is unique and cannot be duplicated or transferred to another person.
What happens when someone checks my ID?
You receive a notification that your ID was checked. The check is logged with a timestamp. You can view all checks from your Activity Logs screen.
Is there a 48-hour cooldown after unlinking?
Yes. After unlinking, both parties must wait 48 hours before they can link with someone new. This prevents rapid status manipulation.
